Rare vintage 1950s James Galanos silk crepe chiffon tea length dress with his signature mega full multi-layer skirt. High wide neckline, fitted waist with attached banded belt and the most dramatic tightly gathered full skirt. Semi sheer tonal navy blue, black and off white stripes. Fully lined; hidden back zipper.

Very good pre-owned condition - there are some age and use related issues with this special piece. There are a few brown marks on the skirt that mostly get lost in all the volume and there is fraying to the seam line of the two layers of silk around the armholes (the fraying is inside and does not show when worn) and shattered silk on the inner layer of both shoulders. Additionally there is some raw edging to the under layers of the skirt, which also does not show when worn or displayed. Priced accordingly.
